The ministry in sports, arts, and culture requested plans from different sports in South Africa to submit their plans of returning to action, with strict health protocols followed respectively under Lockdown level 3. All sports were halted indefinitely in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The minister of sports, arts, and culture Nathi Nthethwa has given the Premier Soccer League the go-ahead to resume with current campaigns. This comes after the Soccer leagues’ plans to put measures in place to prevent the spread of infections were reliable during training sessions and matches.
This is despite the confirmed cases of COVID-19 from different teams in the PSL, including Kaizer Chiefs, Bloemfontein Celtics, the PSL is currently standing at 7 confirmed cases, however, the previous one recorded at Orlando Pirates has since recovered.
Soccer fans can now look forward to the return of live broadcasts on their Televisions, however, stadiums will still be without spectators which are some of the ways to keep strict health measures.
