South African government asked to prioritize South Africans
A group called Only One South Africa is holding a protest in Pretoria over Foreign nationals as preferance when it comes to employment and business findings.
The #PutSouthAfricansFirst and #HumanTrafficking has been trending over the past weeks, South Africans rallying on Social media.
A certain Twitter account @Lerato_Pillay, has been mobilizing people to stand against the first preferance given to foreign nationals. It has now come to light that the Twitter account belongs to a former SANDF member who was dismissed from duty. The user is widely criticised for inciting xenophobic attacks, however some support the user’s initiative.
The Only One South Africa group protested outside the Nigerian and Zimbabwean embassy in the call to put South Africans first. The groups claim that the same foreigners are behind Human trafficking, Drug Smuggling in the country and Prostitution. There have been claims of Human trafficking across the country, particularly Johannesburg CBD.

A number of Human trafficking and attempted trafficking stories emerged on Social media. Numerous people claiming to have witnessed kidnapping or escaped attempted kidnapping.
However, SAPS Minister Bheki Cele dismissed the claims that, there was a surge in in Human Trafficking in the country. He actually referred to current statistics and outlined that since the beginning of the Lock down cases of Human trafficking have decreased.
