The EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is under investigation by the Gender Commission for an insensitive tweet.
This comes after a female news-reporter was harassed by EFF members in a media briefing during the Clicks advert protests. The news reporter was forcefully asked to leave and not cover the briefing, other media houses stood in one accord with the news-reporter, stepped outside, and stopped covering. The act by the EFF was widely criticized.
In EFF’s defense, Ndlozi took to twitter and posted: ”Merely touching her is not harassment”. Tweeps were quick to respond harshly to the remarks he made. He later apologized in a sincere Twitter post:
Despite his apology, the Gender commission said it received a formal complaint against the EFF member Ndlozi and is investigating possible gender violence incitement.
Meanwhile, the court case against Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and Julius Malema of assaulting a security guard during struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s funeral was postponed to 13 October 2020.
