Family, friends, celebrities, and members of the Houston community have bid farewell for the “Gentle Giant” George Floyd. His death caused riots and protests across the US and some parts of the world triggering the fight against racism.
Mr. George succumbed to cardiopulmonary arrest in police custody, this is after a white officer knelt on his neck for approximately 9 minutes on the 25th of May, despite his cry that he could not breathe on a virtual video taken by one of the eyewitnesses on the scene which has since gone viral.
He was laid to rest on the 09th of June 2020. With family and friends sharing good memories they had with him some countlessly describing him as “Gentle Giant”, his Wife described him in an exclusive interview with Yahoo News as a loving and protective father to his 6-year-old daughter. Mr. George’s niece has condemned the killing of his uncle as a “Hate crime” Ms. Brooke Williams added that the laws were designed to disadvantage black people and has promised that justice will be served as long as she was breathing.
The 4 police officers from Minneapolis were charged, the perpetrator was charged with 2nd-degree murder, and the 3 others were charged, with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
