Today the Constitutional Court publicly has ruled that spanking a child will be considered as unconstitutional.
This was referred to the case of a man who had been found guilty for assaulting his 13-year-old kid for watching pornography.
Judgment: The vulnerability of children, their rights to dignity and to have the paramountcy of their best interests upheld, as well as the availability of less restrictive means to achieve discipline, render moderate and reasonable chastisement unconstitutional. pic.twitter.com/UE2KcypLYa

According to the attorney of the Freedom of Religion South Africa, Daniela Ellerbeck, the ruling is forcing people to go against their religious views. She referred to the Bible stating that parents should physically discipline their children. However, that has to be done with love.
Also, parents could have a criminal record for abuse. The children could also be removed from their homes if they are found guilty.
