Planned retrenchments in the banking sector has led to a strike of thousand members of the Finance Union, Sasbo, that will take place on Friday.
The union said more than 40 000 employees are expected to undertake on the strike. However, the Business Unity South Africa (Busa), applied for an interdict to stop the workers from striking. The union will hear if the application is successful or not today in the labor court.
Busa has stated that the sector`s union, Sasbo has not followed the proper procedures required to protest.
The strike will affect ATM`s, internet and cellphone banking services. The spokesperson advised motorists to make sure that their cars have enough petrol and diesel. Also, withdraw enough money to use while the whole banking sector system will be offline.
