Mmusi Maimane, who has been the leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) since May 2015 has resigned from the party and parliament.
He took it to Twitter that he is resigning as the DA leader and from Parliament. He stated that he its been his greatest honour to serve the people of South Africa and will continue doing so.
I have worked tirelessly to build the project of One SA for All. It’s been my greatest honour to serve the people of SA and will continue to do so. I have today resigned from the DA and Parliament. Thank you to the people of this country for your faith in our nation. God bless SA
