Gavin Hunt heads to Naturena
Former Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has finally signed on the dotted line with the Kaizer Chiefs side. This is according to Kick OFF Magazine. His signing comes after the sacking of Ernest M. There have been speculations that Gavin might take over the Amakhosi side, however, nothing was confirmed yet until today.
The new coach is expected to take over from the beginning of the 2020/2021 campaign. Kaizer Chiefs was on a quest to find a new head coach. There were talks that Benny McCarthy was one of the candidates who were considered for the position, including the return of Stuart Baxter who managed the team since 2012 to 2015 which was the last time the Amakhosi side held a silverware.
When it was reported that Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) bought Bidvest Wits PSL status, Gavin hunt was not pleased with the act. His move to greener pastures was expected.
Gavin Hunt is a former football player in South Africa, who retired due to injuries and began his coaching journey in 1995. His career started blossoming when he managed Supersports united and won Three PSL tittles consecutively. Under his leadership from different clubs he won 13 silverwares respectively.
