Part of the speaker on the day was Conny Ntshane who is the founder of @mental health SA and she is also a Mental Health Activist which made her the perfect person to speak on Mental Health and Emotional Intelligence.
Opening her address, she defined emotions as something that is continually changing and moving thus making it a crucial part of our lives.
Her Address covered the following points:
- Mental Health is an important issue yet it is neglected in our country and the one pivotal element to Mental health is how one responds or handles emotions.
- She said scientists believe that Emotional Intelligence is something you are born with while humans believe that Emotional Intelligence is something that you learn and she agrees with both statements.
- When you see yourself as an entrepreneur you will be able to think as one and when you think as an entrepreneur you can teach your emotions to respond as such.
- Know your emotional boundaries in business so that you can be able to draw boundaries which will help you in your interaction with clients and potential clients.
Emotional Intelligence is a pivotal element in Entrepreneurship because you engage with a lot of people and different people come with different approaches and ways of speaking. So, if you are not in tune with your emotions, you will lose clients.
