Dr. Kgosientso “Sputla” Ramokgopa is a former Tshwane ANC regional Chairperson, Gauteng MEC and was the head of the Investment and Infrastructure office in the Presidency until now that he takes on the portfolio of Minister of Electricity in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet.
Blessings Manale, who was mayoral spokesperson for the City of Tshwane when Ramokgopa was Mayor, he says that under the leadership of Dr. Ramokgopa the electricity ministry will lead the country out of the darkness which means that with Ramokgopa at the helm, loadshedding will come to an end.
The new minister of electricity said that being an engineer is what will help him in this new venture and he is ready for the fight that lies ahead of him.
South Africans on Social Media have shared their sentiments about Dr. Ramokgopa and most of them are not as positive as the what is highlighted above because they feel that a civil engineer being placed in a portfolio all about electricity is not a smart move.
