DA leader John Moodey resigns a month before DA federal election.
More than 20 years of serving the political party, John Moodey has officially left the Democratic Alliance. It was officially announced today by the former DA Gauteng provincial leader Mr Moodey to the Media.
Moodey raised few concerns about the DA’s operational policy, eluding that some of the policies were against his principles. John added that it no longer felt like home as he was lonely in the party. The Provincial leader stepped out of the leadership tittle race. He was one of the contenders to lead the Political party after the abrupt resignation of the DA leader Mmusi Maimane back in October last year. Moodey was up against the current interim leader John steenhuisen and Mbali Ntuli.
The return of Helen Zille as the party’s Federal Council caused havoc in the party, as members of the party alleged to have been experiencing racial injustices within the party’s ranks.
Mmusi Maimane resigned late last year, and later followed by Herman Mashaba in which each opened Political Movements respectively. However John Moodey was adamant that he wont be joining Herman’s recently launched political party, but he’s looking at options to join the corporate space.
