The South African Communist party (SACP) is celebrating 99years since it was formed in 1921 as it was previously known as The Communist Party. The party’s general secretary Dr Blade Nzimande was holding a virtual rally on the party’s progress and achievements in the past 99 years.
He used the platform to address major issues holding the country backwards.

The General secretary has slammed the actions of the so called ‘Covidpreneurs’ who are currently under investigations of corruption on the procurement of personal Protective equipment(PPEs) and alleged stress relief grants fraud.Dr Blade Nzimandze has raised concerns over the ongoing borrowing of funds from the International Monetary Funds and World Bank, this comes after National treasury announced that R70.6 Billion in IMF loan has been approved and the Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni announcing that the National Treasure has reached out to the World Bank for additional funding despite other funds from The African Bank and BRICS citing that the country’s economy is already suffocating, he has however praised the work done by Government in different forms in handling the pandemic in South Africa.

The General secretary has also outlined that the South African economy needed more Big banks than the Four currently available. He also took the liberty of supporting the plan to have National Health Institution that will cater for all South Africans since Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize was also part of the Virtual Rally adding that the NHI was needed now more than ever.

The SACP is one of the ANC’s alliance which is non-governmental that has played a crucial role in the struggle during the apartheid regime and the liberation of the country. Blade Nzimande has payed tribute to some of the party’s struggle icons including the likes of Chris Hani, Moses Kotane and many more. Applauding the work done by the SACP including the fight for ‘One Person One Vote’ movement, and also the work done by the Party to have a commission of inquiry into state capture to fight corruption and and give hold corrupt officials accountable.
He has urged the people of South Africa to play their part in assuring that the democracy hard fought for, is not exploited and does not go in vain due to corruption within the government and its people.

Dr Blade Nzimandze said “99 years of the party and the fight is not over!”
